Preparation for fitting a Quick Release toilet seat

A Quick Release toilet seat offers greater flexibility for cleaning the bathroom. The innovative Quick Release function makes it possible to clean even difficult to reach parts of your toilet. What exactly is Quick Release? This system allows you to remove the toilet seat from the hinges in a single tool-free step and then replace it again. The Quick Release system offers practical benefits for first installation too as you can attach and adjust the hinges before positioning the toilet seat. The most important consideration is checking the compatibility of the dimensions of your selected Villeroy & Boch toilet seat and toilet.

Info

Choosing products from the same collection will, of course, guarantee a perfect fit. Otherwise, check the precise dimensions of the toilet seat on the data sheet, including the distance between the holes. Your Villeroy & Boch dealer will also be able to advise you on suitable combinations.

The perfect toilet seat and checking compatibility

Villeroy & Boch offers a wide selection of toilet seats with the Quick Release function, allowing you to choose between different shapes and designs. Within each collection, you can also select the appropriate size of seat to ensure perfect compatibility between your toilet and the Quick Release toilet seat.

Before choosing your toilet seat and lid, check the distance between the holes specified on the data sheet as this must match your selected toilet. This measurement is often 180 millimetres to allow different combinations of toilets and seats. Most toilet seats with a Quick Release adapter also have the SoftClosing feature. This popular mechanism closes the toilet lid very gently and is perfectly compatible with Villeroy & Boch’s Quick Release system.

Toilet seats with QuickRelease

  • Attaching the hinge and adjusting the seat angle

All toilet seats with Quick Release, for example in the Subway 2.0 and Venticello collections, are supplied with hinges designed to allow easy Quick Release assembly. A Quick Release hinge allows simple handling and practically tool-free fitting and removal of the toilet seat.

All you need to attach the hinge is a spanner. Insert the mounts over the washers into the pre-cut holes on the toilet and listen for a clicking sound. Then screw the hinge and washers into the mount and place the toilet seat on top. You can set the angle of the toilet seat manually and then use the spanner to adjust the hinge to make sure it is positioned perfectly on the toilet.

  • Installing the Quick Release mechanism

The Quick Release mechanism offers the advantage of very easy assembly. Simple installation and removal of the toilet seat will also be useful if any repairs are needed. For example, you can easily remove the toilet seat to replace the Quick Release hinge. The Quick Release system is extremely easy to install and you will be able to complete this task very quickly.

Other than the actual hinges and toilet seat, no other materials are needed to install the Quick Release system. Replacement hinges can be purchased from your Villeroy & Boch retailer.

Advantages of Quick Release toilet seats

A toilet with Quick Release offers important benefits, in particular for cleaning. Villeroy & Boch Quick Release seats also come with a SoftClosing function. This mechanism closes the toilet lid very gently and quietly to ensure peaceful moments in the bathroom. And there’s no need for any compromises in design.

Durable and hygienic materials

Quick Release toilet seats are available in a selection of materials. Villeroy & Boch toilet seats are made from Thermoplast, polyresin and Duroplast. The advantages of Duroplast are particularly impressive and this resistant material is used for the toilet seats in the Subway 2.0, Architectura and Venticello collections.

The durability and exceptional stability of Duroplast complement the other advantages of Quick Release toilet seats. Duroplast is also a very robust and resistant material that can’t be deformed once it has hardened.

Robustness and stability of the toilet seat

Villeroy & Boch Quick Release toilet seats usually have a load-bearing capacity of up to 240 kilograms. The design is therefore very robust. The seats in the Villeroy & Boch Architectura collection can even support loads of up to 250 kilograms. The weight stated here refers to the guaranteed break resistance of the Villeroy & Boch toilet seat.

The Quick Release system is also suitable for accessible bathrooms. The toilet seats in Villeroy & Boch’s ViCare collection are designed specially for accessible and disability-friendly bathrooms and meet the requirements of DIN 18040. The innovative mechanism also guarantees hygienic cleaning of the bathroom, a particularly important consideration for accessible bathrooms.

Advantages of a silent closing mechanism

Villeroy & Boch Quick Release systems also include a SoftClosing mechanism that closes the toilet lid slowly, gently and silently with a single press. The fact that you don’t need to completely close the toilet lid improves hand hygiene and simplifies operation, a particular advantage in accessible bathrooms. The mechanism also eliminates the risk of accidents and injuries caused by sudden slamming of the toilet lid and protects the toilet seat from damage. The innovative SoftClosing mechanism is very quiet, a benefit particularly appreciated in households with children.

Villeroy & Boch’s Softclosing mechanism uses special dampers integrated in the Quick Release hinge. The closing mechanism also controls the seat and stops it accidentally slamming shut during cleaning.

Non-porous surface for better hygiene

The Duroplast used for Quick Release toilet seats is completely non-porous. This stops bacteria and other foreign bodies from adhering to the seat or lid. The toilet area is particularly susceptible to contamination and a Quick Release toilet seat offers a perfect solution as its smooth surface makes it more difficult for bacteria to proliferate.

The non-porous surface also offers perfect conditions for hygienic cleaning. The Quick Release mechanism allows easy access to difficult to reach areas behind and under the toilet seat.

Care and maintenance after fitting

Villeroy & Boch’s Quick Release system makes the bathroom easier to clean, streamlines everyday routines and reduces risks of injury, in particular for children. But regular cleaning and maintenance of the Quick Release toilet seat are essential to allow you to enjoy this technical innovation for longer.

Quick Release for greater comfort in the bathroom

Many toilet seats from Villeroy & Boch’s most popular collections have Quick Release mechanisms. As well as offering easier cleaning and better hygiene, these mechanisms also include a gentle automatic soft-closing system. The modern toilet seats from the Subway collections are particularly popular. The ViCare and O.novo collections also include Quick Release toilet seats for accessible bathrooms.
